Everyone loves a cocktail, and there is nothing better than making it all by yourself. It’s not about how complicated and sophisticated a cocktail can be, the best cocktails look exciting and taste amazing. In this blog we cover 5 of our favourite cocktails that are easy to make, perfect to impress your guests, and that taste incredible!

  1. Aperol Spritz

An easy 3 step drink which is perfect for the Prosecco lover. Pour 25ml of Aperol into a wine glass over 2 or 3 cubes of ice and top with Prosecco! The sweet bitter orange taste blends perfectly with the Prosecco and you are left with a cold, refreshing, easy to drink cocktail. Make sure you serve with a straw & garnish with a slice of orange.

  2. Strawberry Daiquiri

In our eyes the perfect strawberry daiquiri. Fresh strawberries, Strawberry Monin syrup, lime juice & a good helping of Bacardi white rum! All you need to do is add all of this to a blender full of ice and use the pulse function until the mixture is blended enough to drink through a straw. If you don’t have any syrup, you can always replace with extra strawberries & some simple sugar syrup and/or a few tablespoons of caster sugar. Garnish with a full strawberry & wedge of lime.

  3. Blue Lagoon

In a cocktail shaker, add ice, blue curacao , &  50ml of vodka. Shake well for 10 seconds until the shaker becomes frosty and forms a thin layer of ice. Pour into a tall class, squeeze in half a lemon & top with a good quality lemonade. This refreshing cocktail tastes amazing and only takes a few minutes to make. Serve with a slice of orange to garnish.

  4. Mojito

This ever popular cocktail is a personal favourite with The Bar People staff.  All you need to do to create a perfect mojito is muddle a good helping of fresh mint & demerara sugar in your cocktail tin, add some decent rum & a few lime wedges & shake well with ice. Strain into a high ball glass full of crushed ice & garnish with a fresh sprig of mint & wedge of lime. A refreshing cocktail, perfect for summer parties!

  5. Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is a whiskey lovers favourite.. When it comes to classy, this drink says it all!
In an old fashioned style tumbler, pour 50ml of a good whiskey and add a few dashes of Angostura Bitters. Gently crush a few sugar cubes using a muddler and top with 50ml of fresh still water. Add a large cube of ice and garnish with either a slice of orange & a cherry, or if you are feeling confident, replace the orange with a twist of orange rind. Stir slowly and serve straight away.
